How do you like to spend your free time?

We’re constantly inundated by the rapid amount of content on our screens so to preserve my attention span I like reading fiction and writing poetry.

Is there a figure/personality you’re heavily inspired by?

Hands down, Toni Morrison. Her works have had a profound impact on my psyche. Although it’s something she said in real life that I keep coming back to:

“If you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have power, then your job is to empower somebody else.”

What's the most important lesson you've learned in life so far?

You have to be your biggest advocate and cheerleader. If you don’t back yourself, you won’t be able to convince anyone else to do the same.

What are you most challenged by in your role?

It’s actually a very social job - you have to be able to connect to anyone and that can be taxing if you don’t decompress ever so often. As much as it is a forward-looking, big picture role, you’ll also have to be adept at dealing with the granular things and once in a while jump in to fight fires.

What are your favourite campaigns or projects that you've worked on, and why?

I really enjoyed Glamboyant - the F1 precinct activation at Kampong Gelam in 2022. It was a large-scale effort with various moving parts which made its success incredibly rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about working at Multikulti/Nomadic Collective?

The biggest comfort is being supported by the team I work with. I think it’s also an environment that encourages you to come into your own from the get-go. You are in a collaborative space but your voice has ample room to remain distinct.

What is one tip you would give a person who wants to start working in Public Relations & Communications?

You simply have to be open to absorbing as much as possible and as fast as you can but a helpful start would be to begin gleaning insights about the current media landscape .

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.

Disclaimer: While I don’t usually do this, I can drink a truckload of alcohol and still only be partly tipsy.

Where would we find you on a Friday evening?

Most likely at home with a book, rewatching Before Sunset or consumedly curating yet another Spotify playlist.

Chill out to one of her Spotify playlists here.
